Folio Institutional, Inc. is the custodian that InvestingCatholic has chosen for our self directed, advised platform.
We chose Folio due to their innovative technology, their commission-free window trading for our clients and their robust set of features.
They provide our clients with direct, online access to their investments. With Folio, our clients receive tax information, can monitor their investment performance, and vote their own proxy statements. Our clients are able to monitor their investments performance in real time, access statements, manage tax lots, and more…
Folio was founded in 1999 by Steven M.H. Wallman, a former commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a current member of the Investor Advisory Committee. This committee came into being as part of the Dodd-Frank Act, which Congress passed in reaction to the 2008 financial crisis.
Folio Institutional is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Folio Institutional is a self-clearing broker-dealer and a direct member of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). The company provides custody and brokerage services for billions of dollars of investor assets. As a clearing broker-dealer, it must submit to an annual financial audit by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), as well as various state securities agencies.
Folio Institutional provides InvestingCatholic with access to their innovative, patented online brokerage and investing solutions. These features allow InvestingCatholic to efficiently maintain diversified Folios of securities for our clients. Folio offers InvestingCatholic hands-on control and asset management scalability, which allows us to efficiently re-balance Folios, structure Allocations, produce reports, promote compliance, and take many other actions in pursuit of our fiduciary responsibilities.
While InvestingCatholic is your primary contact and fiduciary account manager, Folio Institutional, as our custodian, maintains separate and independent records of all important account information. They also provide online access to statements, confirmations, tax documents, transaction history, corporate and proxy governance, and more.
Folio is open on weekends, with hours and accessibility seven days a week that fits our needs and the needs of our clients. Even though InvestingCatholic is your main point of contact for your investments, you can always contact Folio for help with login issues or questions about their business.
